Marc Angel
S&D, Vice-President of the European Parliament 2023-24, Since 2024 Quaestor of the European Parliament
“Our professional paths crossed multiple times. Initially, I encountered Jonathan for the first time as a research associate of the European Council on Foreign Relations. I got to know his enthusiasm for the European project when he launched Pulse of Europe in Luxembourg. As a political journalist, I engaged with him, fielding his inquiries during various interactions. Later, during his tenure as a Public Relations officer at the European Parliament, I always loved the events he organized and moderated. He has a capacity to make everyone feel at ease and has a good sense of humor. Presently, I seek his counsel in matters of strategic communication, underscoring the enduring nature of our professional connection.”

Head of the Reactivation & Transition Management Nachbergbau Research Center, Bochum
“Jonathan has invited my grandfather and me as guests to the show ‘EU on stage – The Social Dimension of the Green Deal’. My grandfather worked in the mining industry, and I am now the head of the Reactivation and Transition research focus at the Nachbergbau (post-mining) Research Center, so the theme of this episode of EU on stage is actually part of my very own family history. The event was divided into two parts: a stage situation moderated by Jonathan, where my grandfather and I had the opportunity to present our mining family history and my research field to EU Commissioner Nicolas Schmit. In the second, unrecorded part of the event, we were in a discussion round with the EU Commissioner and answered questions from students. This experience was very valuable to me because I not only spoke from the perspective of a scientist but also had a strong social component and personal connection through my grandfather. This is important because ultimately, in addition to scientific evidence, we need to maintain empathy with those who might feel left behind. We must shape the future together, and this day has made that clear to me.”

Robert Harmsen
Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences of the University of Luxembourg
“As the Head of the Master in European Governance of the University of Luxembourg, along with my predecessor in this role, Prof. Robert Harmsen, I have collaborated with Jonathan on numerous occasions in recent years. We found him to be an excellent organizer and moderator.
Some highlights include an interactive pedagogical event in 2019 for our students and selected secondary school pupils during the hearing of Commissioner-designate Nicolas Schmit. Jonathan hosted and moderated the event, with Christophe Hansen (EPP, Member of the European Parliament), Marc Angel (S&D, Member of the Luxembourgian Parliament), and Prof. Robert Harmsen serving as experts. Together, they analyzed and contextualized the questions of MEPs and the answers of the Commissioner-designate.
In 2021, I had the pleasure of co-organizing an event with Jonathan focusing on the various dimensions of solidarity in the EU. The debate featured Foreign Minister Jean Asselborn and Vice-President of the European Parliament Katarina Barley. Jonathan structured the debate editorially and moderated the multilingual event. The discussion was broadcast live and held in an interactive setting with 250 students in attendance.
More recently, Jonathan and I collaborated on drafting a master’s course together.”

“I met Jonathan through my journalistic work with BTC-ECHO, the leading German-language crypto media outlet. He regularly connects me with exciting interview partners from the crypto/blockchain space. Throughout our collaboration, Jonathan has consistently stood out for his speed and reliability.
Recently, I had the chance to meet Jonathan in person. He organized a press trip to London for financial journalists. The eight-hour event was largely organized and moderated by Jonathan. Prior to the event, he had arranged interviews for me with some of the attendees. I was particularly impressed by how effortlessly and professionally Jonathan handled these tasks.”

“As a journalist, I need reliable and concise information—often within the shortest possible time. Additionally, I greatly appreciate prompt responses to emails and calls, as well as professional preparation and execution of meetings. Jonathan excels in these areas, as he impressively demonstrated during a press trip he organized for the crypto asset manager CoinShares in London. I always enjoy working with Jonathan because he maintains a clear overview even in hectic moments and challenging situations, and he knows how to communicate effectively. Moreover, I value Jonathan not only as a professional but also as a person and a trusted conversational partner.”

Office of the European Parliament in Belgium
“I have worked several times with my colleague Jonathan, who was employed in the European Parliament Liaison Office in Luxembourg. Among other things, we organized three cross-border events for the European Parliament's Ambassador School Programme. Prior to the events, he was responsible for providing educational briefings for the students. He led the events with both the necessary professionalism and a certain ease, which helped the students feel comfortable engaging with the Members of the European Parliament. Jonathan possesses journalistic thinking, is exceptionally organized, and can also respond to the unforeseen with the necessary composure. It was a pleasure to work with him.”
